The video clip editing for By This Name Interactive Edition has been slow-going. This upcoming edition will include a DVD with video clips that help teach the material. As people read through the book, some sections will have a DVD icon, and they can view a video clip to help understand the message better.
We finished filming last year but haven’t made much headway with the editing. This was due to overseas teaching trips, a staff conference and other priorities that popped up. To make matters worse, we suffered computer problems with our main editing computer out of commission for 20 days!
With the start of 2013, our main video editor is hoping to get lots of footage edited. There are 66 video clips with 52 of them yet to be completed. Many of these are simple while others are more complicated. If we can complete one video clip every four days, the project will take 42 weeks to finish!
We are quite pleased with how some of these clips are turning out. One GoodSeed family member is living and studying in Israel, and was able to film some incredible footage that we are incorporating into the book. For example, we have one clip near the beginning that mentions the Dead Sea and the area around Qumran, the location where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. The on-location footage has really helped make this segment much more dynamic and interesting.
Can you please pray with us? Pray that distractions will be kept to a minimum and good progress will be made with all the clips. Pray also that the equipment will keep on working!
