Many others in this church have also come to faith through this book. Dave and Kelly Bell are two of these.<\/p>\n<p>Here are quotes from their testimonies:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe book, <em>Stranger on the Road to Emmaus<\/em>, I kid you not, is the clearest explanation of the sacrifice Jesus made for us and how we were separated from God prior to that\u2026 Reading that book established the understanding for me that Jesus is the bridge between us and our new connection with God.\u201d \u2014 David Bell<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI was a natural born people pleaser. I didn\u2019t want to disappoint my parents. I would say that was my main focus of moral compass\u2026 I didn&#8217;t know what I didn&#8217;t know. I came to Jesus last February when I was reading The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus. I never understood Jesus&#8217; story. I had heard parts of it. I knew the Easter story but I didn&#8217;t understand the background, I didn&#8217;t understand what it meant. That book helped me understand exactly what Jesus did for me\u2026 and it was very humbling.\u201c \u2014 Kelly Bell<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It is always an occasion to praise God whenever a person comes to put his or her trust in Jesus for salvation. And it&#8217;s even more joyous when a husband and wife go through a Bible study and together discover the precious meaning of the gospel message as a couple. It was a very special moment for them to walk down the road to Emmaus and read again from the Bible how Jesus himself opened up the Scriptures and explained the meaning of the empty cross and the empty tomb to the two astonished disciples.
