John shares that the Gospel of John is his favourite (among many!) because the Apostle John wrote his gospel so that people may come to believe that Jesus is the Saviour.<\/p>\n<p>The Apostle John wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8230;but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31 ESV)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more-->To really understand the gospel, we can&#8217;t break it out or separate it out from the rest of the Bible. In the first two chapters alone, the gospel of John mentions 55 things like places, structures, people, and the Apostle John\u00a0never gives any background to them. His original audience would have understood these references. But in today&#8217;s modern world, there are so many who have not read the Bible before.
