I was excited to get this book as I wanted to hand them out to all of my neighbors during the holidays. When I read it myself, I found it so simplistic and childish that I felt it would insult the intelligence of reasonable English speaking adults. therefore, I decided not to give these out.
I love all of the other products I have gotten from Good Seed, but, the language used and the images presented are only appropriate for children between 8 and 12 or adults for whom English is not their first language.
We have used The Stranger and The Lamb for a number of years to teach adults, youths and young children the gospel in a chronological manner. We have also done The Lamb in the form of a play and have shared its message through acting and props. For the times when we were unable to give out the participants copies of either The Stranger or The Lamb, we wished we had some material we could pass to them to help them remember what they’d learnt and also to give them something to use when they wanted to share the gospel with someone else. We tried making our own summarized version of The Stranger and The Lamb but were unsuccessful. What joy then when we saw “What’s Christmas and Easter all about?”
We ordered a case and intend to hand them out to participants of The Stranger study classes and after readings or presentations of The Lamb. And when Easter rolls around, we want to hold an informal session with colleagues in office about what Easter is all about based on this book and then give them copies so they can take an easy-to-understand and clear explanation of the gospel with them.
