My friend and running partner, Jordan, and I had made a quick stop at the grocery store on the way home from the indoor gym where we run laps together. But now our engaging conversation held us in the parking lot, while the wipers of his SUV were kept busy by the falling snow. A couple of months earlier, I had given Jordan a book, The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus, and had been praying in earnest that the truth of God’s Word would impact his heart.

In January of 2006, my wife and I were visiting a ministry partner who was in his 93rd year of life. Still active, this man had a real heart for those living in his community. As he shared with us about how his heart ached for his neighbors, tears were streaming down his face. There was no church nearby, and he knew that most of his neighbors had never heard the gospel before.

A man in his early 40’s contacted me a couple years ago as he was sick and needing a liver transplant. Bob was a “biker” who worked in a motorcycle shop and very much looked the part. We got to know each other for just a few days before he was rushed to the hospital after vomiting up extreme amounts of blood. With him in the hospital, I talked with him on the phone, sent him letters, and spoke with him about making sure he was ready to meet the Lord, since he was entering into uncertainty with his health. He got his transplant quickly and I gave him The Stranger book to read while recuperating. He read it and got so excited telling me he “just believed” what it said. He started going to church and I could tell his whole demeanor had changed. He even told me that he had a mission field in witnessing to his biker buddies.

Can you relate? If so you're not alone. Many people shudder at the thought of teaching a home Bible study. But with GoodSeed training, you can communicate the Bible's message with assurance and accuracy—even without a Bible degree. Here is a neat story of one stay-at-home mom whose uncertainty turned into confidence.
